3.3 Summary

3.3 Summary

Postby StevieC » Thu Dec 10, 2009 6:12 pm

Just a quick update for those who maybe haven't played and are thinking of checking out 3.3 the third and final major update for Wrath of the Litch King.

New Dungeons:

Forge of Souls
Pit of Saron
Halls of Reflection

All three are fairly fun and a couple of the bosses are pretty darn tough. They are pretty small for instances but all 'mesh' into one instance if you wish to play them that way and it's pretty fun. Especially the end of Halls of Reflection which has a real 'oh shit run!!!' moment in it.

Not participated in the new raid yet but from what I hear it's challenging and fun.

Other new features:
The Dungeon finder is really working well, takes a few mins to get into groups as any type of player, makes a real change from pleading and begging to be let into groups as a Warrior dps'er. You're thrown together and off you go, of course it's luck of the draw and you can get some dodgy players (only met one ninja so far) but you can also meet some real good folks that you'd like to run with again (I want cross sever friends now!) I hope this gets extended to raids as it'll be pretty good if it does.

The new map is pretty awesome and makes Quest Helper almost obsolete now. It has 3 panes showing you the map, a list of quests and the current selected quest text, also you can shrink the map down and continue to play the game which negates a feature previously 'vital' in Cartographer. Very nice.

With 2 instance runs and after running the new instances I had 3 gear upgrades which has really helped my dps along :) very nice stuff, had a lot of fun yesterday evening.

You're talking a good fight here - I might well give it a try. Been meaning to for months :)

need to get back in game, but my PS3 mistress is too alluring at the moment, i'm in the annoying position of my gearscore being a tad too low for most heroics, and a lack of arsed-ness to grind some dungeons for gear :P

Rabid, getting you geared up in heroic gear will probably be fairly painless now, especially with the Dungeon Finder.

I may be able to help you out with some tailored goods too.
